I was working towards Surveying 4 today (the last skill I need before I can get Master Artisan), and I decided to take some data Conveniently I only had 2 Surverying XP when I started taking data, so it was really easy to keep track of everything. Anyway, on to the product of my boredom! hehe

Samples that must be taken to get Surveying 4: 325 (10k xp at 30.8 xp per sample, it's actually 324.7 but you can't take .7 samples hehe)

Things I found interesting:

The highest numbers (41, 47, 47, and 49) were all received after getting the pop-up window notifying me of a large concentration. The interesting part is that 3 out of the 4 attempts resulted in only recovering part of the concentration (the fourth being a total recovery), yet I still got about the same amount of experience.

I received 21 experience points for the second time when I took my 149th sample. Nothing worth note, I just thought it was funny that in 148 samples I only received that amount of experience one time!

My original guess was that the Average Experience per Sample would be 30. Since I did all of this on a TI-85 calculator I was able to watch the Average change with every sample I took, and the whole time the number kept bouncing above 31 then below 31, above it, below it. My original guess was close, but 31 would have been even closer

This relates to the point right above this one.... When I took my 101st sample the Average Experience per Sample came out to exactly 31! I was creeped out! haha

My calculator was ran the following "equation" for the 150th sample. I used this set up the entire time (I can recall the last entered equation so I could just change the numbers with every sample taken) to track all of this:
((20*4)+(21*2)+(22*7)+(23*7)+(24*8)+(25*5)+(26*9)+(27*6)+(28*5)+(29*9)+(30*14)+(31*8)+(32*8)+(33*8)+(34*5)+(35*6)+(36*8)+(37*5)+(38*10)+(39*11)+40+41+(47*2)+49)/150

And now my fingers really hurt haha

Anyway, I just did this because sampling isn't very entertaining, and I'm a big nerd who likes playing with numbers! I thought you all might find this interesting, so I decided to post it all here. I was tried graphing the data in MS Excel, but it didn't show anything actually worth looking at so I scrapped that. So, enjoy!
