Description The Alert skill offers a chance to defend against a surprise shot from a covered sniper. The higher the skill, the better the chance to successfully defend against this type of attack.

1. Allegedly this modifier works with the /alert command which is supposed to put the player on alert state for an amount of time. (I do not believe this worked precu) The modifier would roll a check to see if a rifleman's surprise shot would hit, or miss the player all together.
