At least this has been covered. If you're Overt and place a Field Base or High Tech Field Base, they will automatically register on the Planetary Map. And, you can requisition facion items and installations (though not NPC personnel nor droids) from the camp display.
I just learned that here a few days ago. And it's been good times sinc
