Once you give the feign death command it goes into your command que. The next time you are hit after Feign is qued up will incap you for a few seconds. You will stay down until you choose to get up by giving a stand command. MOBs will not attack you while you are in this incap state (although AOE shots from NPCs can and will incap you; if that happens 3 times on the trot, you're dead) and will eventually wander back to their lair. They will however re-aggro you when you stand, so be ready. Again, this skill is not intended for use in PvP; if you use Feign Death while engaged in PvP, while in the state of FD you can be immediately killed (i.e. /deathblow can be used on you successfully) by another player. Also while under feign death HAM does regenerate.

Feign has several instances in which it will not work:

* If it was not first in the Que, hit ctrl-Backspace to clear your que before FD.

* If you're kneeling.

* If you are attempting/have peace (/peace) in your que.

* If your HAM is too low to commit Feign (~200 HAM cost)

* Also, we gain Feign skill as we advance (+10 +20 etc), the more enemies attacking you the higher chance for failure.

* There is a known bug where players that LD while in a state of FD are unable to successfully Feign Death until the next time they clone.

Feign Death

What does Feign Death do?

First and foremost, Feign Death (FD) is a PvE skill, not intended for PvP.

Once a player gives the feign death command it goes into their command queue. The next time they are hit after Feign is queued up, they will perform an incapacitation animation. The player will stay down until they choose to get up by giving a stand or posture change command. MOBs will not attack players while they are in this feign death state (although AOE shots from NPCs and Creatures can and will cause "real" incapacitation; if this happens 3 times in a row then the player is killed. After the player initiate a feign death, the NPC's and creatures will lose interest and eventually wander back to their lair. They will however re-aggro the player if they are still nearby when the player exits the feign death state. Players under feign death can be immediately death blowed by hostile players. HAM does regenerate while under feign death, presumably at the same rate that prone regeneration occurs.
