Structures can be placed into the game world through the player using the building deed while in their primary inventory. The player must first have an available character lot to use, and secondly not be in any no-build zone. A no build-zone is an area around a npc or creature lair in which no structures of any type may be placed down into. A no build Radius is the fixed area around an npc city or point of interest in which no structures can be placed within. Furthermore structures can only be placed on flat, level terrain. Each structure has a specific lot cost, which will be listed further below. A player may view how many lots they have remaining by checking their character sheet. Each player starts with 10 lots.

Structures can be renamed by clicking on them to bring up the radial menu, and then clicking the [[media:FactoryRenaming1.jpg|Structure Management]] radial option. On the Structure management radial, the player must click the Set Name option. Clicking Set Name will bring up a new [[media:FactoryRenaming2.jpg|SUI window]] allowing the player to input a new name for the structure. Alternatively, players may click on the structure and use the /namestructure command while within visual range of the structure or structure management terminal. Using the /nameStructure command without a parameter will bring up the Name window. Adding a name parameter with the /nameStructure command (ex. /nameStructure Go Daddy! )will automatically name the structure to what was inputted. Named structures will have their names reset back to the default object's name if the structure is re-deeded, therefore they will have to be named again if the player removes the structure from the game world. Structure names can support up to 68 individual characters.

Color may be applied to structure names, bags/backpacks, basic text, and certain chat.

Basic text includes Emails, descriptions area, bio, and /note. Chat that may be colored includes auction, vendor barking, AFK reply, reply, guild. Basically everything except spoken chat like yell, say, and shout. These colors are based on hexadecimal RGB color codes, as used in HTML. To change the text color of a line you need a backslash ("\") followed by a hash sign ("#") and then your 6 character color code. Putting it all together with a couple of examples, a pure red color would be \#FF0000 or a nice, dark orange would be \#FF8C00

Note: When an structure is placed into the game world, it takes on its base item name given to it, regardless of what the deed itself is called. For example an heavy mineral harvester deed labeled Joe Blow's Mining Express is called Heavy Mineral Harvester when placed in the world. When the structure is re-deeded, the deed will automatically rename itself to the base item name (Heavy Mineral Harvester), and thus remove the name given to it by the crafter. In the case of buildings, the structure's name (as it appears on the sign outside) is set to the player's name by default, i.e "Joe Blow's House, Joe Blow's Cantina" etc. A tatooine large house building deed named Joe Blow's Love Shack is called out in the game world as Joe Blow's House and when re-deeded, the deed becomes

Tatooine Large House.

Game Mechanics

Structures can be placed into the game world through the player using the building deed while in their primary inventory. The player must first have an available character lot to use, and secondly not be in any no-build zone. A no build-zone is an area around a npc or creature lair in which no structures of any type may be placed down into. A no build Radius is the fixed area around an npc city or point of interest in which no structures can be placed within. Furthermore structures can only be placed on flat, level terrain. Each structure has a specific lot cost, which will be listed further below. A player may view how many lots they have remaining by checking their character sheet. Each player starts with 10 lots.

To use the deed and place the structure the player must click on the deed and choose the Use Deed radial option. Following this they will enter into a structure placement mode which will essentially be an overhead view of the general area where the player is at. The player is presented with a wireframe outline of the structure into which where they may then place it over the terrain. If this structure highlights as green while over a particular spot, then this signifies that the position is valid and the structure can be placed there. If the structure highlights as red then this signals that the spot is not valid and the structure cannot be placed there. Yellow patched areas with black cross marks represent no build areas that are set around structures or lairs. Places that are not yellowed out are potential areas where a player can place a structure, if there is room. Once the player places the structure, they are then returned to their normal camera mode and the structure is placed down into the game world and set up to be operated by the player.

Once the structure is placed, a waypoint is created and activated for the structure's location and an e-mail is sent. The email informs the player of their remaining lots after placing the structure.
