Description The /survey command is used in conjunction with a sample tool. When you /survey your character will survey for whatever resource you last selected in the sample tool UI. This allows you to perform a survey without using the sample tool UI. Ability Breakdown & Details

Surveying is the primary means of locating resources in SWG. Higher Surveying skill modifiers allow the player to increase the range at which they can spot resource concentrations. Surveying has a 3 second reuse timer in between each survey. A player with the FS surveying skill can use a surveying device without being an artisan. The default range on this would be 64m as if the player had novice artisan. However if the player is an artisan, then the additional bonuses increases the max range potential on the player's tool up to a max potential of 384 and 6pts. Skill mod tapes however had no effect on increasing surveying range.

When you select tool options/set range radial menu for the survey tools, you can select from 6 settings:

* 64m x 3pts range -- Novice artisan +20 surveying
* 128m x 4pts range Surveying 1 +15 surveying
* 192m x 4pts range Surveying 2 +20 surveying
* 256m x 5pts range Surveying 3 +20 surveying
* 320m x 5pts range Surveying 4 +25 surveying
* 384m x 6pts range FS Surveying +20 surveying (must complete fs skill boxes to obtain this)
