The factories are matched to the specialized crafting tool. So if a schematic shows up in the crafting tool then it is built in that kind of factory. e.g. furniture is found in the structure crafting tool and is therefore built in the structure factory.<br>

Up to 1000. When you create the blueprint schematic you can set the number of uses on it (default is max, which is 1000). Most people just leave it at that, and if they need to limit the amount of items produced they just put enough resources into the input-hopper to produce the requested amount.

===How do I use a factory? Method 1===

* Craft a blueprint for the item you want to produce.

* Go to your factory.

* Open the radial-menu on the factory, select "Options" > "Access schematic slot"

* Select the schematic from the list.

* Select "Access station ingredient hopper"

* Drag and drop the resources required for the schematic into the hopper.

**If resources are unknown, click "Options" > "List ingredients needed for station"

* Start the factory by selecting "Options" > "Start manufacturing objects"

* The factory will now run until it runs out of power, has used up the resources, until it has produced as many items as you allowed the schematic to be used for, or if the hopper is full.

====Notes====

* At "Options" > "Access Schematic Slot"; add, switch, or remove Manufacture Schematics to/from the Datapad.

* At "Options" > "List Resources"; a few seconds after adding a schematic a list with resource names and units can be retrieved.

* While the factory is operating, clicking Options will open the Output Hopper, without stopping it.

* Examining a running factory displays the current job batch and runtime for an item.

* Each Complexity point of the final schematic equals 8 seconds of factory runtime.

====Using Schematics====

If you have created a manufacturing schematic in place of creating an object, you can use it on an automated factory to mass-produce the object. Depending on how many items you created the schematic to produce, you will walk away with more items in less time (automated factories will continue to create the object even if you are offline).

A Manufacture Schematic is required to run a factory. If a player has created a manufacturing schematic in place of creating an object, the player can use it in an automated factory to mass-produce the object. These can only be made by specialized crafting tools near crafting stations to get the option of creating a manufacturing schematic. Manufactured items will all get identical serial numbers from the particular Manufacturing Schematic. Manufactured items come out into the factory output hopper as Factory Crates. Each crate is made up of a stack size of individual items inside. Default sizes differ from crate to crate depending on the item being made. Sizes are: 5, 7, 10, 15, 25, 50, and 100 stack sized crates.

When you use a manufacturing schematic, you will need to insert the proper amount of resources listed in the schematic into the factory. Once you have everything set, you can the start producing these objects, which will deposit themselves into a crate that only you can access.

== Operating a Factory ==

The benefits of using an automatic factory is that, if you create a manufacturing schematic with good outcomes, you can create multiple objects of that same exact specification. In addition, you will not have to craft all of the objects by hand. Let the machine do it for you.
