== Item Variations ==

The ability to select an item variation comes during the sixth and final step in the crafting process. Item variations are basically derivatives of the base parent Item. A player may choose from the list of style variations available to an item by selecting the drop list box in the upper left corner under the Choose Appearance label for the item.  By default the base (original) object is the first and default selection, and any variations on this object are under it. When the player selects a variation, the object's name in the customization field is renamed to the variation type's name and it will be given a different appearance as well to reflect the choosing of a different object.

There are three items available to weaponsmiths that can have multiple style variations for them. These are Blaster-rifle Barrels, Blaster-pistol Barrels, and Weapon Scopes.  The advanced versions of these apparently are not given style variations (perhaps a bug/oversight). Adding one of these components to a weapon will give it a noticable change in its appearance,i.e scopes will appear on the item, barrel configuration appearances will change.

These are the available variations for these items found in the files, although a portion of thse (large blaster muzzles for instance) were not available as options during pre-cu.

== Weapon Scopes, Blaster Barrel, Stock appearances ==

Many weapons can have various customized appearances using the previously mentioned barrel/weapon scope types, however some weapons give a noticably different appearance when using weapon stocks as well. Only hand crafted weapons will  have a change in display between an altered/unaltered weapon. Items produced in factories do not pass on the item customization displays. If an item is produced in a factory, it will come out with the appearance as if it had no components added at all.  Additionally when putting stocks/scopes/barrels into the weapon, the crafter needs to pull the items from the factory crate if the items are crated. Just double clicking on the crate to load items into the slots won't work, they actually have to be out of the crate to be considered hand made. A list of weapons whose appearance will be visibly altered by adding in components is shown below.

This is a list of all components that are visible on ranged weapons (except the bowcaster) when they are handcrafted and the components are either handcrafted or pulled from a crate before addition to the schematic.
