Game Mechanics

In order to collect resources, every harvester has a storage hopper. The storage hopper is essentially a unique container that stores any type of resource that the harvester may have collected during its operation. Storage hopper sizes determine how many resources a particular harvester can keep before it is forced to shut down. Storage hoppers can be accessed by clicking on the Operate Machinery radial option under the Structure Management radial menu. Once clicked, an SUI Window will appear where a button labeled Hopper will show up on the lower half of the window. Clicking on this will open up the Storage Hopper window.

Managing Storage Hopper

Once the player has the Storage Hopper open, they will see three Options of interest which are Discard Resource, Retrieve Resource, Empty Hopper. Clicking the OK button simply closes the window. In order for one of the options to work, the player must select a resource that is stored in the hopper and then press the corresponding button to the desired action.

Discard Resource

If a player chooses the Discard Resource option, an SUI window will appear with a slide bar that allows them to control the amount of resources to have removed from the hopper and thus decreasing its size. Clicking OK in this window will confirm the amount of resource selected to be removed from the resource amount stored in the hopper.

Retrieve Resource

If a player chooses the Retrieve Resource option, an SUI window will appear with a slide bar that allows them to control the amount of resources to have removed from the hopper and thus decreasing its size. Clicking OK in this window will confirm the amount of resource selected to be removed from the resource amount stored in the hopper and placed into the player's inventory.

Empty Harvester

If a player chooses the Empty Harvester option an SUI Window will appear with a prompt asking them for their choice. Clicking Yes on this window will permanently destroy all resources stored in the hopper.
