The /registerWithLocation (or /register) command allows dancers, doctors and musicians to register with an inactive location on the planetary map, and have it show as active, or ‘manned’. Once the last person who has registered with a location leaves the structure, the system will set the location to inactive.

* Sun - A doctor,  is in the medical center and waiting to heal wounds there.

* Moon - (There are no registered medical staff there.)

* No Icon - Impossible to register at this location.

You can enter a structure and type /register to register yourself with it. Once you do this, the Sun icon will appear next to the structure's name in the global map. As soon as you leave the structure, however, you will "unregister" automatically. If there is not another player present who has registered, the icon in the global map will change to a moon or disappear entirely, depending on whichever is appropriate.

Ability Breakdown & Details

Allows you to "register" with a structure, stating that it is "manned."

What do the sun / moon icons next to a Planetary Map location (medical center, theater, cantina, hotel) mean?

Answer

Doctors, Dancers and Musicians can register at an appropriate location, and show that the location is manned, and that someone is on duty. Doctors (novice and above) can register at PC and NPC Medical Centers, while Dancers and Musicians can register at PC and NPC Cantinas, Hotels and Theaters.

To view the status of a location, open up your Planetary Map. (Ctrl-V) On the right hand side, click on the folder for the type of location you want to visit (Cantina, Hotel, Medical Center or Theater) On the expanded list of locations, you will notice a sun or moon symbol next to the name of the location. The sun symbol means that at least one player has registered there, and is available or ‘on duty’. The moon symbol means that no one has currently registered at that location.

How do I show that I'm available / on duty at a location with the /register command? (medical center, theater, cantina, hotel)

Answer

The /registerWithLocation (or /register) command allows dancers, doctors and musicians to register with an inactive location on the planetary map, and have it show as active, or ‘manned’. You can register with a location by typing /registerWithLocation while inside the structure. Once the last person who has registered with a location leaves the structure, the system will set the location to inactive.

I have also hear rumors that you gain a healing bonus by registering with a medical center (even a 25% bonus in a detachment HQ), but I have not confirmed this.
