Description

/prone: Going prone brings you into a laying position, which prohibits movement and makes you more vulnerable to melee attacks, but allows for better ranged accuracy than standing or kneeling.

Game Mechanics

The prone posture has a number of effects on combat. Like other posture changes, prone offers a number of modifiers for the player such as bonuses to accuracy. Prone posture also adds certain penalties in the forms of not being able to use melee weapons, and in the case of certain ranged weapons such as rifles, being unable to fire that weapon at point blank range. Another penalty gained by going prone is that a damage bonus is applied against a player while they are in that position. Proned players receive 1.5 times the damage they would normally receive if they were standing if they are attacked by a melee opponent.
