ON starter planets, mission difficulty is determined by the weapon you're holding AND your skill in that weapon. I watched my difficulty level increase by steps of 1 as I climbed the pistoleer tree. The max you can get this way is 25 (SOE has capped it at that). BTW starter planets = Tat, Naboo, Coriella, Talus, Rori.

On 'adventure' planets, the difficulty missions are pre-determined, regardless of player skill or weapon. Dantooine has 30-40 lvl mission, Lok has 40-50 lvl mission, and Endor/Yavin/Dathomir have 50+ lvl missions. I'm not sure on the exact mission lvls on these planets, but my impression of difficulty was Dantooine -> Lok -> Dathomir/Endor -> Yavin.
