Game Mechanics

Resource concentrations presumably have an influence on the chance for a particular type of creature to be selected out of the region list. It is thought that resources such as meats and hide will add a bonus chance to spawn for creatures that dispense those resource types. As an example, a higher concentration of herbivore meat adds a greater weight to the base chance of spawning a herbivorous creature on the region list for that particular area. This sort of behavior would allow for planets to be seeded dynamically with particular types of creatures based on their relative bounty or scarcity.
