Game MechanicsThere are 5 types of mission terminals in swg:
Using Mission TerminalsA player may use a mission terminal by getting within 6 meters of the terminal and double clicking it or by using the radial menu and selecting the Use option. This will open up a window that will list the various mission types available. Each mission terminal (except for bounty hunter mission terminals) have two tabs. These tabs divide the mission types within a terminal. Clicking on a mission tab will display the missions available for that particular mission type. Up to 5 missions will display at a time on the mission window. Players may obtain a new listing of missions by clicking the Refresh button on the terminal. This will randomize all mission listings for both tabs. Players may take a mission by selecting on it within the window and hitting the Accept button. This prompts the player asking them whether or not they wish to accept the mission. Only two missions may be obtained by one player at any given time and stored in the datapad, regardless of the location they obtained them from and they will be notified if they attempt to take on more missions than they are alloted. When a player accepts a mission, the mission will appear on their datapad and also their onscreen waypoint monitor window if the mission generates a waypoint. Hunter missions do not generate waypoints. The mission title will be created as a waypoint in the onscreen monitor along with the distance to the target. Mission waypoints are also given out to the group in the form of a Nearest Mission for group where the average closest mission waypoint for the current group is listed when a player takes on a mission. Players may deactivate their mission by going into the datapad and using the radial menu on the mission object and selecting Deactivate. This will remove the mission from the onscreen waypoint monitor as well as the Nearest Mission for group monitor. Deactivated missions do not spawn into the game world. When a player leaves the planet in which they obtained missions for, the current mission waypoints (if the mission generates a waypoint) will be deactivated and cannot be re-activated until they return to that planet.
