Description With "Slicing: Armor" the smuggler gains the ability to make modifications to the stats of armor from the "Slice" radial menu option on the armor piece. System Messages Slicing Armor SUI Prompts Slicing Armor Intro Molecular Clamp Used - Need to Cut Blue Wire Molecular Clamp Used - Need to Cut Red Wire Analyzer Node Used - Need to Cut Blue Wire Analyzer Node Used - Need to Cut Red Wire Slicing Final Cut - Blue Wire Already Cut Slicing Final Cut - Red Wire Already Cut Slicing Failure Radial Menus Slicing Game Mechanics The ability to slice armor comes with Slicing 3 skill training. When a player slices armor, they may be rewarded with either an encumberance stat enhancement slice or an effectiveness stat enhancement slice to the armor's current stats. Both events have an equal chance of occuring and the slice enhancements improve the armor's stats by a percentage amount. The min and max range of the enhancement increases as the player gains more slicing skill training ranging from 5-30% effectiveness and 15-40% encumberance at slicing 3 to 11-35% effectiveness and 20-45% encumberance at master smuggler. Players must progress through these steps in order to successfully slice armor: Click on the armor and select the Slice radial menu A Standard Slicing interface will open, and you can use Molecular Clamps or Flow Analyzer FANs If the slice is successful then the armor has its encumbrance or effectiveness stat enhanced If the slicing attempt fails then the armor will remain as it is however it can never be sliced again. A walk-through on weapon slicing:(w/Clamps) 1. You will need: The weapon A laser knife with at least 2 charges A Weapon Upgrade Kit (WUK) A Molecular Clamp A lag and distraction free moment. 2. Open your inventory 3. Click and hold (or right click) the weapon to be sliced, to open the radial menu. 4. Hesitate for a moment, the slice option should appear at the bottom of the menu after 1-2 sec. 5. Click Slice, a slicing dialog will open. 6. Click on "Shunt the power with a molecular clamp." message, ensure it is highlighted and hit enter. 7. READ the dialog box in the slicing window. It will tell you what color the Molecular Clamp lights up. 8. Click on the selection to cut the color wire that the clamp has directed you too. Ensure it is highlighted and hit enter. 9. Click on the remaining wire, ensure it is highlighted and hit enter. 10. The slicing results will now scroll across your screen, and in your system message window. Same for armor, just substitute a AUK for the WUK. Containers of course require no upgrade kit but are done the same as well.
