Its an ability of its own. If you're masked, then you can't apply camo and vice versa.

Camoflauge requires a camo kit to made in order to apply it to yourself and onto others. Camo kits are specific to each planet and its creature resources and all require a certain type of meat, hide, and bone (i.e. carnivore meat, animal bone, leather hide). Its in the schems.


Camo is separate from Maskscent. With Camo, you have to a different kit made for each planet you visit. With Wayfairing I, you get kits for Tatooine, Corellia and Naboo. They have to be made from the local materials found on the respective planets. They tend to last a little bit longer than Maskscent (in my experience). You can /conceal another person to get them past 'aggressives', either creatures or npc's.


One additional thing to the above posts is that camo will not stack on top of masking when your responsible for the camo of a group and someone already masked their scent - you wont be able to 'overide' their mask unless they take it down themselves.

I've been on large hunts where I was responsible for the camo of the entire group - and some actually *refused* a master's camo... Go figure... On dathomir of all places too!

Conceal allows you to conceal other players. Thats why you need to craft the camo kits. Its not just a personal Conceal, I can be used on others.

Now camo Also Hides you from NPC's Too,

If every Ranger could Just conceal everyone everywhere with no personal cost (hide, bone, meat) . How would that effect things?

I think the crafting aspect of camo is the balance for a powerful skill.

No other class can walk up to a Mauler Lord , sit down /backhand him/her and walk away. (unless a Ranger concealed them)
