Clothing repair test 1.

Ok. Last night I tried an experiment to see how clothing repair actually works because it is mentioned on these forums fairly often. I have to say that I was suprised by the results! The experiment worked like this: I took 100 pairs of sturdy boots from the same factory run and died with them in my inventory so that they would decay to 950/1000 condition and I could repair them. Actually, because of a mistake it ended up being 99, but I think this is no problem. Anyway, I also made two crates of repair tools. One was made with junk materials and not experimented on so that they were 20% quality. The others used good materials and were experimented up to 99.7%. I have two characters. Momoko is a master tailor and Eimi is a master image designer with no artisan skills at all. Both Momoko and Eimi repaired 25 boots with the 20% tools and 25 boots with the 99.7% tools (24 for Momoko and the 99.7% tools because of the missing pair of boots). What I wanted to find out is if 1) the quality of the repair tool makes any difference and 2) if tailors get any bonus for repairing clothing. The answer to both of these questions is yes!! There are four results you can get when you repair clothes: you can get a complete failure (1/1), a marginal repair (660/660), a repair with reduced condition (800/800) and a "perfect" repair (950/950). These numbers are for clothing in 950/1000 condition by the way. I hope to do all of this over again with 100 pairs of boots in much worse condition, but that means dying a lot. Anyway, here are the results.

Eimi (20% repair tool)

Complete Failure(1/1) - 44% Marginal(660/660) - 40% Reduced Condition - 16% Perfect - 0%

Eimi (99.7% repair tool)

Complete Failure(1/1) - 12% Marginal(660/660) - 16% Reduced Condition - 16% Perfect - 64%

Momoko (20% repair tool)

Complete Failure(1/1) - 40% Marginal(660/660) - 28% Reduced Condition(800/800) - 24% Perfect(950/950) - 8%

Momoko(99.7% repair tool)

Complete Failure(1/1) - 0% Marginal(660/660) - 4.2% Reduced Condition(800/800) - 4.2% Perfect(950/950) - 91.6%
