Game Mechanics

To use a vendor, one has to click on the "Use Vendor" which will bring up the vendor interface below:

Owner Using Interface
Buyer Using Interface

The display interface that a player receives after using the vendor depends on their relationship with the vendor. The vendor owner receives the For Sale, Offers to Vendor and Stockroom tabs along with Price and Item Name filters and zone selection options. Non-owners receive the For Sale, Offers to Vendor and Available Items tabs along with Price and Item Name filters.

For Sale:

The default screen when using a vendor is the For Sale screen. This will list all the items on the current vendor through categories.

Buyers

Players that are not the vendor owner who interact with a vendor will only receive options to buy the item on the lower right part of the window.

For Vendor Owners

At the top left are four zones

  • Galaxy
  • Planet
  • Region
  • Vendor

Selecting one of these allows a player to see items not only on the vendor that they are currently accessing but any of vendor in the galaxy depending on the zone is picked. The default view is the Regional view and all the items on vendors in the immediate region zone area that belong to the player will be shown. The galaxy view displays all items on all vendors on every planet that a player has a vendor on. The planet view displays all items available on any vendor that the player might have on the current planet that they are on. The final option, vendor, lists only items available on the current vendor.

At the bottom right of this window is a button named "Sell an Item." When clicked it will bring up a dialog with the player's inventory shown on the right side. The player may then pick something from their inventory, Put in a price and optionally add a description and click then "Sell Item" button. The item will go up for sale on the vendor that the player is currently using. Items placed for sale are on sale for 30 days. If they are not purchased After 30 days they are removed from the for sale section and placed in the stock room. Players may also opt to withdraw the item from sale using the Withdraw Sale button and it will automatically be placed into the stockroom as well. Players must retrieve the item or put it back up for sale within 30 days or it will be deleted by the vendor. Players are notified by e-mail when an item has been withdrawn from sale either manually or through the 30 day period.

Credits obtained through purchases made by players go directly to the vendor owner's bank account.

Note: Players can only sell items if the amount of items that are already for sale do not match or exceed their Vendor Item Limit modifier. If the player already has an amount on all of their vendors that exceeds this modifier, then they cannot sell any new items.

Offers to Vendor

Offers are items placed on a vendor by a player with the intent of it being sold to the vendor owner. Players may offer items or already created schematics to a vendor. This mechanics works very much like how bazaar instant sale purchases are handled.

Rejecting an offer

For Vendor Owners

The offers tab will show players any items that have been offered for sale by visitors to the vendor. Offered items by other players are only seen by the vendor owner. Players can click on the item to see details about it. Clicking "Buy" will purchase the item and have it put into the player's stockroom and can be retrieved from there. If a player Clicks "Reject" will to send an email telling the seller that they are not interested in purchasing the item and the item is sent to the seller's Available Item list when they interact with the vendor. The seller will have 7 days to retrieve the item before it is deleted. When an offer is made to a vendor, No email is generated notifying the vendor owner and they must check offers manually on each vendor to see if any have been made to it. If, however, the vendor owner is online when the offer is made then they will receive a system message notifying them that an offer was made to a vendor. No other notification is sent.

For Non Vendor Owners

The offers tab will show players any items that they have offered for sale to that particular vendor. Only offers made by the player to this particular vendor are seen in this window. To offer an item the player must go to the Offers to Vendor tab and select the Offer Item. To remove an offered item, the player must click on the offered item and select the Details option, and then the Withdraw Sale button. This will place the item in the Available Items tab allowing the player to retrieve it. Offers made to a player vendor count against the global 25 item limit allowed to place on the galactic bazaar. When offering the item, the seller has 7 days before the listed offer expires. They may choose to withdraw it at any time however. Additionally if an item has been rejected the vendor owner, the seller has 7 days to come pick the item up from the vendor or it will be deleted.

Available Items

This is the tab seen by non vendor owners when they use a vendor. When a player purchases an item, the purchased item will be placed automatically in their inventory unless the inventory is currently full. If the player's inventory is full then any purchased items will be placed in the Available Items page. Items may also appear here if the player offered an item to a vendor and the vendor owner rejected it. Players have up to 30 days to retrieve the item from this tab else the item will be deleted.

Stockroom

Stock Room

The stockroom holds items purchased through the offers screen, and items withdrawn from sale (either by expiring normally after the 30 day timer or if the player manually withdraws the item from sale. The stockroom has a 30 day timer. Anything in the stockroom beyond 30 days is subject to deletion.

All vendors have their own stockrooms, however the items listed are shared in a pool consisting of all of the stockrooms linked to each of player's vendors. Stockroom items remain connected to whichever vendor that they were originally on, even though they all share the same pool while being placed in the stockroom.

Items in the stock room have 3 options available for them to be manipulated by the player:

  • Relist Item
  • Sell Item
  • Retrieve Item

Clicking the relist item button will simply place the item back up for sale on the originating vendor at the same price and with the same item description that was given to it previously.

Clicking the sell item button will allow the player to re-enter the price and description for the given item and put it back up for sale on the originating vendor.

The Retrieve item button will retrieve any item on the currently selected vendor. It will not however, allow a player to retrieve an item from any vendor other than the current one in use. The player must physically go to the location of the vendor to which the respective items are stored on to retrieve them from their stockrooms.

Note: Players can only relist or resell items if the amount of items that are already for sale do not match or exceed their Vendor Item Limit modifier. If the player already has an amount on all of their vendors that exceeds this modifier, then they cannot relist or resell items back from the stockrom.

Search Filters

Item Name Filter

Players can filter out item listings by entering in item names or partial names. The system will match up all references to that query. The queries are not case sensitive.

Min and Max price filter

Players can refine a search by entering in a minimum or maximum value or min and max range to sort items by. Items with a min value set and no max value will only display items that match the min value. If a min value is set that isn't equal to or greater than the value set for the high-value will then all possible values within that min-max range will be returned in the search.

Example 1.

A min value set to 0 and a max value set to 1000 will return all items valued between 0 and 1000

Example 2.

A min value set to 1000 and a max value set to 5000 will return all items valued at 1000 through 5000.
