Bounty Hunter 22 (Source)
Droid precision is a complement to the skill: droid track and both are used together. I have tested this skill out and here is what I can say for sure:
Droid precision actually reports your marks new location once droid track sticks and the text reads: "droid will continue to report location". So droid precision skill is used to determine how fast the waypoint updates AFTER the droid track sticks. Droid track is used to determine IF the droid sticks.
Believe it or not... this skill is working as intended, if I have determined what is does correctly, because at Master, when you get another + add to the skill, the waypoints from tracking droids DO update faster.
higher skill mod gives a closer waypoint to the missions actual location
Try increasing your Droid Precision for one.
Also, when you get within a certain distance (500m? can't quite remember my grind it was a while ago) the mark stops moving and the waypoint stops updating. So sometimes it takes a considerable amount of swooping around looking for your mark. Either that or swoop out 1000m or so to get out of range and launch a new seeker. That's worked for me before.
Just another hint. The first time I Mastered BH I grabbed Ranger tracking. A lot of times your mark isn't going to be at the precise waypoint. I've found them to be as far 400 meters away. Either way it's your choice but Ranger tracking really does help.
I am new to bounty hunter and have decided to go through it the hard way and not slice bases where I can avoid it(if the guild needs me I must go)... I capped XP and trained investigation 1 and 2 now I am working on 3... here is the problem apperantly at 3 the mark moves and I lack the droid track ability.
A few questions:
1. Can I avoid losing the mark (WP stays at a shuttle though three driods) by driving to him?
2. Do the marks even move if I don't shuttle once I am on the right planet and have sent the first seeker?
3. how much Investigation XP is there to be had per mission (I have 6k to go at this rate it may take weeks)
4. With how slow my droids are will the mark have moved once the waypoint comes back?
5. Are there any general tips you can share regarding NPC missions?
Thanks for your time, I have looked at the guide but I did not find the answers I was looking for, hopefully somone can help me out.
- From the sec your probe droid gives the planet you have about 5-7 mins to get to that planet and way-point. During this timer your mark is still "moving" to the system and will update appropiatly if you don't make it in time.
- See point 1
- Not sure back when I did Invest 3 I got about 14xp per mission.
- Yes. Droid Precision and Tracking Droid Precision SEA's will narrow how far away your mark is in relation to the way point. Keep in mind if the way points 5 mins old your mark won't be anywhere near it.
- With JTL and 1 min shuttles it's very very easy to get to the planet and to your mark before the timer in point 1 runs out. b I have seen the timer last from as short as 3 min to as long as 15 mins avg is 5-7 mins. You can use seekers to update your marks way point but since you dont have the track skill yet it will only update once per seeker. Once you have the track skill Tracking Droids SEA's will add 1 update per +1 of the SEA. With +25 in Tracking Droids you capp at 32 updates per seeker released at MBH.

A few questions:
1. Can I avoid losing the mark (WP stays at a shuttle though three driods) by driving to him? Not sure what you are asking here... The marks always move on me. Even with an active droid on them, they are walkers. If you get to the WP and the mark is not there, look up the mark's name in your mission profile and do /tar markname. Sometimes they will be within about 200m or so of the wp. This will find them, if they are local. 2. Do the marks even move if I don't shuttle once I am on the right planet and have sent the first seeker? The always move around on me. Typically I will shuttle in and have the arakyd location, then when I release the seeker, they have jumped about 10k away. 3. how much Investigation XP is there to be had per mission (I have 6k to go at this rate it may take weeks) I think it's about 500 per mission. It's not a lot, but you can do it with patience and effort... this is one of the toughest grinds in the game. I would suggest slicing bases to speed things up, but it's up to you. You will get good smuggler loot along the grind though. You can recycle this into your guild, or sell it... your choice. 4. With how slow my droids are will the mark have moved once the waypoint comes back? 9 out of 10 times, yes
In a nutshell, your mark will move 180m per minute. This is from the time you first locate the WP with your probe. There is no mob there until you get within 108m of the WP. Your mark will spawn when you cross the 108m threshhold.
At level three you should be getting anywhere from 200-400 xp per kill.
You should have no problem getting close enough to your mark to spawn him eventually. But don't be surprized to use 3-4 droids in the process
