You dont have to sit in the lawn chair, or even sit the camp to get the effects. Camps do two things. Slightly faster damage heal rate. And you can actually heal wounds. Remember, the ONLY other way to heal wounds, is to be in a hospital and get healed by medic, or in cantina watching/listening to entertainer.
I have healed all my wounds in a camp, including the mind ones. Thats nice, but it takes a long time.
