Abilities

Brawlers get abilities to destroy their enemies in close combat. Brawlers can fight with or without weapons. With special attacks like "dizzy" and "blindness" a Brawler can also be a big contributor to a group by pairing their high damage with the enemy's incapacitation. The Brawler can learn to fight with a variety of weapons, from one or two handed swords to polearms, and even unarmed.

Novice Brawlers are just beginning to walk down the path of the melee fighter, gaining several of the basic skills that they will develop throughout their growth as a novice. There are five main advantages to being a novice Brawler:

  • Attack Accuracy: Brawlers gain +10 to all of their basic attack skills as a novice (unarmed, one handed, two handed and polearm).
  • Attack Speed: Brawlers gain +5 to the speed of all of their basic attack skills as a novice (unarmed, one handed, two handed and polearm).
  • Unarmed Damage: Brawlers gain a +5 to their fist damage as a novice.
  • Special Attacks: These are attacks that do something extra to grant the Brawler an edge over their opponent.
    • Berserk 1: This allows the brawler to deal more damage to their opponents, but they will get hit more often as they focus on their offense.
    • Intimidate 1: Intimidates an enemy. When intimidated, an enemy cannot strike as accurately.
    • One-Hand Lunge 1: This allows the Brawler to slightly extend their range and has a chance of changing the posture of the enemy.
    • Two-Hand Lunge 1: This allows the Brawler to slightly extend their range and has a chance of changing the posture of the enemy.
    • Polearm Lunge 1: This allows the Brawler to slightly extend their range and has a chance of changing the posture of the enemy.
    • Unarmed Lunge 1: This allows the Brawler to slightly extend their range and has a chance of changing the posture of the enemy.
    • Taunt: The ability to focus the enemy's attention onto the Brawler.
    • Warcry 1: This attack can slow the enemy's attacks.

Weapon Certifications: Weapon Certifications allow a Brawler to use weapons without penalty.

  • Dagger Certification: The ability to effectively use Daggers.

The four Brawler skill lines are: Unarmed Specialization, One-Hand Sword Specialization, Two-Hand Sword Specialization and Polearm Specialization. Let's look at each of these in detail.

Unarmed Specialization

Unarmed Specialization is one of the most basic Brawler skill lines. It is the skill line that deals with the weapons that the Brawler will never have to pay to upgrade: his fists. Unarmed Specialization provides five major advantages:

  • Unarmed Accuracy: The ability to hit more often when unarmed.
  • Unarmed Damage: The ability to hit for more damage when unarmed.
