Structures, like most other object, can be examined through clicking on that structure and choosing the examine radial option. What appears in the examination window depends on the status of that structure. When examining factories, a player may see several bits of information. If the structure has been renamed then a "variation of" attribute will appear on the examination window listing the base name /type of structure that is being examined. This window is usually blank under normal circumstances if a structure has not been renamed, however if a structure has a manufacturing schematic inside, it will then display additional information such as the type of item being produced by it, how long that item takes to produce, as well as the total amount of items that have been produced by that particular factory. This is used as a means of determining how many items are left in the schematic use limit without removing the schematic from the factory.

The time displayed on objects in the examine window is calculated by:

Time In Seconds = Item Complexity x 8

Time displayed is always in seconds.

When examining a structure deed, Normally a structure would have its base attributes however when surplus maintenance or power are left in the structure after redeeding, the Surplus Values are shown when examining the deed. When there is no longer surplus value remaining in the structure, the attributes are removed from the deed examination process. Another aspect to structure deed attributes is the "variation of" attribute which appears on any deed which has had a custom name created for it by the crafter other than the default issued one for the object. This variation of attribute lets players know what the item really is.
