Game Mechanics

Structure administration is broken down into four sections:

  • Administrator list
  • Transfer Structure
  • Structure Privacy
  • Entry / Ban List

Administrator List

The administrator list is a sub section of powers granted to another player that allows them the full access of controls to operate or maintain the structure, including adding other players to the administrator list or hoppers. Administrators cannot, however, re-deed or rename a structure. Players can add other players to their structure's administrator list by clicking the Structure Permissions radial menu and choose the Administrator List radial option. This will bring up a Permission list where the player can input the first name or first name + last name of a player that they wish to add to their structure administration. Upon clicking OK, the server will add this player to the list (provided the character still exists). The structure owner is always on this list. Players who are on the administrator list also have access to, and control of, containers inside the structure.

Alternatively players my use the /setPermission command with the Admin parameter to input a player to the list by being inside the structure and within 32 meters of the structure management terminal and issuing /setPermission Admin PlayersNameHere.

There is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players. Players can add up to 36 players to the administration list.

Transfer Structure

Most structures can be transferred to other players who have sufficient lots to accept the structure. To transfer a structure, the player must issue the /transferstructure command with the name of the player to whom they wish to receive the structure. Alternatively the player may target the recipient and then issue the /transferstructure command. When this command is issued, the targeted player will now be set as the new owner of the structure and the previous owner will be removed from all access to the structure. The player who is transferring a building, must be inside the building in order to transfer it to another player.

There is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players.

Structure Privacy

Most buildings in swg have the ability for the building owner or administrator to set the building as being public or private. The importance of public or privacy state is that it allows players to include or exclude players at their will. When a building is set to public, any player can enter their structure, except those individuals on the building's ban list. When a building is set to private then only players who are on the Entry List may enter it. Players who aren't on the entry list will be moved outside if a building when it is set to private. Structures with a vendor inside cannot be set to private. Players can view the privacy status of their structure by checking the structure status menu under structure management radial menu or simply issuing the /structurestatus command while in the building.

Setting Privacy

There are two methods to change the privacy settings on a building:

  • Using Radial menu on structure management terminal
  • Using setprivacy command

Using Radial Menu

To set the structure privacy by radial menu, the player must access the Structure Management radial menu. Once the window is opened, the player will see a radial option (privacy). Clicking on this will toggle the building's privacy setting (private or public) depending on which setting the building is currently at.

Note: Post CU, the Privacy radial option was replaced with two options "Privacy: Private" and "Privacy: Public." During Pre-CU the "Privacy" option was used solely as the only toggle.

Using setPrivacy

Alternatively, a player may used the /setPrivacy command while inside a building and within 32 meters of the structure management terminal to toggle the privacy status to private or public.

House Entry / Ban Lists

Buildings in star wars galaxies are set up to offer players the power of selectivity when determining who can or cannot enter their structure. The structure entry mechanics are setup into three related and important sections:

  • Entry Lists
  • Ban Lists

Entry Lists

There are two ways to add a player to the entry list of a building:

  • Using the Entry List radial option
  • Using the /setPermission command

Entry List Radial

To access the entry list, the player must use the structure management terminal to open up the Structure Permissions radial menu and from there, choose the Entry List radial option. After using the Entry List radial, an SUI Window opens up and works just like how the administrator list functions work. Banned players cannot be added to an entry list. As with other permission types, there is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players. Up to 36 players may be added to an entry list.

SetPermission

The second method for adding players to an entry list is through the /setPermission command. To use the set permission command, the player be inside the building and within 32 meters of the structure management terminal and issue /setPermission Entry PlayerNameHere. As with other permission types, there is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players. Up to 36 players may be added to an entry list.

Ban Lists

There are two ways to add a player to the ban list of a building:

  • Using the Ban List radial option
  • Using the /setPermission command

Ban List Radial

To access the ban list, the player must use the structure management terminal to open up the Structure Permissions radial menu and from there, choose the Ban List radial option. After using the Ban List radial, an SUI Window opens up and works just like how the administrator list functions work. Banned players cannot be added to an entry list. As with other permission types, there is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players. Up to 36 players may be added to an ban list.

SetPermission

The second method for adding players to an ban list is through the /setPermission command. To use the set permission command, the player be inside the building and within 32 meters of the structure management terminal and issue /setPermission Ban PlayerNameHere. As with other permission types, there is a 40 character limit to the names of entered players. Up to 36 players may be added to an entry list.
