Crafting Tool Experimentation Mechanics
1. Clothing and Armor Crafting Tool
2. Food and Chemical Crafting Tool
3. Generic Crafting Tool
4. Starship Crafting Tool
5. Structure and Furniture Crafting Tool
6. Weapon, Droid, and General Item Crafting Tool
There is 1 line of experimentation available to these items.
1. Experimental Effectiveness
The Experimental Effectiveness line is dependent on 100% CD. Experimentation on this line will increase the Tool Effectiveness attribute on these items.
This attribute spawns on any item that has had its base type name changed. For player crafted items this type change occurs when the player renames the item from the default given one. The name change can occur automatically as the player chooses a particular style for the item during the customization process or by manually renaming the item in the name field. After changing the name the item now indicates that it is a variation of the specific type that it originated as.
For more information about the Variation Of attribute, see
General Item Mechanics
Represents the current container contents of the Item.
For more information about volumn counts, see Inventory Mechanics
This attribute indicates the effect that the tool will have on the assembly / experimentation rolls during crafting. A negative number means a penalty to the roll, and a positive number indicates a bonus.
Crafting Tool Status:
This attribute indicates the production status of the tool. Two options display here, Working or Ready. Working indicates that the tool is currently processing a prototype object and cannot be used to initiate crafting. Once the tool has finished the object, it will then return to Ready status. Ready status indicates that the tool is ready to be used to begin crafting.
Prototype Time Remaining:
This attribute only shows up on the item when it is currently in Working status. This will list a real time updated counter of the remaining time the tool has before it will return to Ready status and allow the player to use the tool again.
This attribute appears only on crafted items or looted components. The crafter's name is listed here.
